I was talking with someone recently who made me wonder: do we really understand what Jesus did for us? Do we really understand what Jesus did for us when He died?
I know when I got baptized I didn’t quite understand that God forgave all my sins, not just my past ones. I knew He forgave all my sins, I just didn’t put the two together. I think God forgiving ALL our sins is one of the best things He will ever do for us. Think about it:
You know that guilty or sad feeling you get when you know you’ve done something bad,(If you are a baptized believer) God already forgave you! This is truly amazing, if you ask me. He truly does give us amazing love and grace. The reason I think this is so amazing is because when we mess up and fail, we can have peace and joy. Peace that we know God loves us no matter what we do and that we can never change that (Romans 8:38-39). This is something I have been dealing with lately. I have been really appreciating God’s forgiveness and realizing what a horrible person I am, but I can rest and know God still loves me!
If you are on the fence on becoming a Christian, I want to encourage you to read the questions below and consider if you are ready to be saved or not.
1. What is your motive? Your motive should be that you desire to love and serve God for the rest of your life. Not because everyone else is doing it or because it would please your parents, but because you love the Lord.
2. Am I willing to go against the crowd? Being a Christian in our world is hard. We have to go against society and sometimes what the world classifies as “cool”. Just know you’re not alone. There are a lot of other Christians in our world going against society just like you (1 Peter 5:8-11).
3. Am I ready to surrender my life to God. Are you ready to go on a crazy, wild journey called life with God? Once you come out of that water, you live for Him alone. His will is now your will (James 4:13-15).
I hope this has been helpful to you and maybe help you make that decision to give your life to Christ. Let me say this: it will be one of the best decision you’ll ever make. God is waiting for you with open arms. The question is, will you accept His gift of salvation (Psalm 13:5/ 37:39)?

Wonderful post, Alyssa! Lately in my prayer time, I’ve been thanking and praising God for sending His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my sins. Despite the fact that I’m an imperfect, sinner on this Earth. He has shown me so much grace & love and He definitely deserves love back from His children. ❤
