Season 2, Episode 1: Lie – I Am Ugly

Hey, friends! Welcome to episode 1, season 2 of the Magnified podcast – Detecting the Lies! In today’s episode we are jumping into the lie “I am ugly.”

The lie “I am ugly” is a sneaky little lie that Satan will use to make us strive endlessly for the acceptance of others and to ultimately make us forget what our true purpose here on earth as Christians is – to be a light and bring others to Christ. So, join Alyssa as she takes you through some different ways you could be striving for the acceptance of others without even realizing it, how to fight back against these habits we have created with God’s truth, and even learn what Jesus had to say about how the world will treat us if we decide to follow Him.

Check out the episode 1 here!:

Truth: I am accepted by God.

Satan’s Goal: To stuff out the light and have the darkness win; to ultimately stop us from sharing the love of Jesus and bringing others to Christ.

Scriptures: Galatians 1:10, Psalm 139:1-6, 2 Timothy 1:7-10, Romans 12:2, Colossians 3:23-24, Proverbs 31:30, Matthew 5:14-16, 1 Peter 3:3-6, 2 Timothy 3:10-17, John 15:18-21, Proverbs 22:4, Psalm 96

Tool Alert: The result of not living for the approval of man is true freedom in Christ. In that freedom, we are able to be the light, serve, love, and ultimately point and bring others to Christ.

Question to Journal: Do we keep our voice and head down when our beliefs are challenged?
