Hello, friends! Just wanted to mention this is taken from a journal entry I wrote earlier this morning. Happy Easter and may you have a blessed day celebrating our Lord's resurrection!
“…this is year is the first year where I feel at peace about my salvation, God’s grace, and God’s love towards me.
For example, I do not have to get up at sunrise and have a sunrise Easter service in order to be a good “Christian.” I do not have to dress up or go to a formal church service to be a “Christian.” I am a Christian and free from all these “rules and standards” I often put on myself this Resurrection Sunday because my death and sin has been defeated! My war is over. I have victory and I am free because of Jesus Christ my Savior!
You are free too! You are not defined by the standards you hold to yourself or by what you feel others put on you. You are free from the legalism that says, “You have to do x, y, z to be a ‘good Christian or to be saved.'” You are free from human rules and mandates. The only thing that remains is to, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.'” Matthew 22:37-39
