A few months ago one of my friends sent me a text that said something like, “What do think about me starting a blog?” I wrote back and said I would absolutely support her if she did start one. That is when the seed was planted. I thought about how cool it would be to start a blog and to tell the world your story or give advice on certain subjects.
There were two things keeping me from starting one. 1. Who was I? I did not think I had anything to offer. Nor did I feel qualified! 2. Fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear of what others would think of me. Would they think I am weird for starting one?
Fast forward a few months when another one of my friends sent me an email. She was telling me her passions and asked what I was passionate about. I wrote back with this reply: “I really want to help mentor young girls in their walk with God and just make a difference. I want to use my testimony to help young girls have hope. Along with that, I want people to know and understand that they are loved and beautiful.” When I saw that on my screen in front of me I knew I couldn’t keep that passion and zeal inside of me, so I started praying and asking God to use me!
A month later is when God put it on my heart to start a blog. I immediately started thinking of ideas, talking with my family, and of course talking to God. With all that being said, I hope you can get two things out of this:
1. You never know what God can use you for! I never would in a million years thought I would be sitting here today typing this out!
2. Don’t be afraid to step out and get out of your comfort zone. Trust God and He will lead you (Philippians 1:6).
See you in two Saturdays!
So proud of you for stepping out in faith and obedience, to do what you are passionate about especially in the sphere of influence that you have. Well done. Looking forward to seeing more.

Wow, what an awesome story, Alyssa! I can’t wait to start reading some of your content. It was so nice to read that you left this decision completely up to God and allowed Him to guide you with it. I’m definitely going to keep up with your blog! 😊
