I want to start this blog out by saying thank you to my sister Leah for encouraging and inspiring me to write this blog. Thank you, Leah, for always being a great sister! Leah, this one is for you.
We often say, “Jesus is the reason for the season,” or “Jesus is the Star of Christmas!” We see and hear these phrases a lot at Christmas time, but do we actually mean it? Do we actually believe and live like it?
Do we wake up Christmas morning or just any day in December and think,”Yay! Today is another day to celebrate Jesus’ birth!” I think the majority of us don’t. Life happens, we get busy, and we forget. We forget to step back, take a deep breath, and remember that it’s all about Jesus. We forget that “silent night.” We forget that Joy that came to the world. We forget that He came as the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
I want to encourage you and your family, as you prepare for Christmas this week, to remember these three things:
1. It’s not about you or your wants; it’s about Christ. (Luke 2:8-20)
2. To RELAX, know everything WILL get done, and everything will be okay. (John 14:27)
3. Be thankful for all the blessings God has given you this past year. (Luke 1:49-50)
