You Always Whisper, “Go!”

Photo not my own

Author’s note: Here is a song I wrote today. I pray that these words encourage you to trust God wherever He is calling you (Hebrews 13:5 and Proverbs 3:6-7).

“Collected prayers on the floor; Once more, I hear your voice calling me- somewhere new, somewhere I have never been before.

I shudder; I shake; I try to ignore. I try to pick up all the pieces just like I’ve done before; now, look where I am. I am stuck doing this in my power again.

You always whisper, ‘Go!’ You always say, ‘I got this, just let go!’ I say, ‘I can do it,’ but every time I fail. That always leads me running back to You. You’re my good Shepherd, and I worship you.

You’re my good Shepherd, and I worship you.

Tears are streaming down my face. I am reminded of Your grace. You surround me with Your love, and I am reminded to walk in freedom. You say I am beautiful, worthy, and called. Then, I hear Your voice…

I shudder; I shake; I try to ignore. I try to pick up all the pieces just like I have done before; now, look where I am. I am stuck doing this in my power again.

You always say, ‘Go!’ You always say, ‘I got this, just let go!’ I say, ‘I can do it,’ but every time I fail. That always leads me running back to You. You’re my good Shepherd, and I worship You.

You’re my good Shepheard, and I worship You.

This is the endless cycle I find myself in. Over and over again, I have to say goodbye to my will and open up my hands to see Your plan. Thank You for knowing; thank You for seeing that I am imperfect, yet You understand me.

Tears are streaming down my face. I am reminded of Your grace. You surround me with Your love, and I am reminded to walk in freedom. You say I am beautiful, worthy, and called. Then, I hear Your voice…

You always say, ‘Go! I got this, just let go!’ I say, ‘I can do it,’ but every time I fail. That always leads me running back to You. You’re my good Shepherd, and I worship You.

You’re my good Shepherd, and I worship You.”
