Hello! Welcome back to another M.M. Today I talked to three wonderful ladies. Two of them are good friends of mine and another is a “mentor” of mine. I am excited to get into their stories.
The first story we are going to look at is Ann’s. Ann is a wonderful lady who lives in AZ with her family. Here is her story (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8).
Q. Was there ever a time in your life when you didn’t believe in miracles? If so, how did that change?
A.”I think I have always had a sense that God could work miracles in our lives. After all, He had given me back my mom after serious cancer. I was nine years old then; I prayed every night for her to get well and come home from the hospital. While this was a big miracle for a child, even greater ones were yet to come.
Q. Do you have a story you can share when you knew God caused a miracle in your life?
A.”For me, God’s greatest miracles didn’t happen in the physical world but the spiritual world. Not for this life, but for our eternal life.
The second miracle that happened for me was when I was saved. Psalm 40:2 describes this miracle in my life.
The biggest miracle came just recently, this past year. My oldest son, Eric, got married to a sweet girl, named Dani, about four years ago. She was not a believer, but he was. She had absolutely no “religious background” and her mother was hostile to Christianity. I prayed for Dani’s salvation for a few years. I prayed God would bring someone into her life who could speak the truth to her in way she could understand and accept. My witness wasn’t having an effect. Then, I kind of gave up hope and only prayed infrequently. I should have known better; where was my faith?? God’s own Word says that nothing is impossible for Him.
In April, we had dinner at Dani’s house and that is when she told me that she had gotten saved! I cried, praised, and thanked God. He had brought Rachel, a pastor’s daughter, into her life. They were both studying cardiac imaging at the same school. Even while I was “giving up,” He was at work. What a lesson for me too!
Our God is awesome. His miracles, large and small, give Him glory.”
This is so cool! This so cool to see that even though we may give up, God doesn’t. He does indeed hear us when we pray and His timing is perfect.
The next girl I talked to is Tasha. Tasha is 14 and a good friend of mine. Tasha also lives in Arizona with her family. Here is her story (Matthew 11:25).
Q. Was there ever a time in your life when you didn’t believe in miracles? If so, how did that change?
A.”No, I have believed in miracles my whole life.”
Q. Do you have a story you can share when you knew God caused a miracle in your life?
A.”Yes. One day the power went out on one side of the whole house. We couldn’t use the oven, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, or coffee maker. My grandpa came over to see if he could fix it, and found that all the electrical cords were burnt up. The outlet was in my brother’s room. If we had kept using that outlet, it would have started a fire. Luckily, we were able to fix it and all are safe now!”
Q.How did this miracle change your life?
A.”I think this miracle showed me God really does make things happen for a reason. If the power had gone out any later, our house could have burned down.”
The third girl I talked to is Zoe. Zoe is 15 and lives in AZ with her family (James 1:17-18).
Q. Was there ever a time in your life when you didn’t believe in miracles? If so, how did that change?
A.”I think I have always believed in miracles. I grew up reading about miracles in the Bible, and seeing them happen all around me. It came to a point where sometimes I forgot that miracles were impossible.”
Q. Do you have a story you can share when you knew God caused a miracle in your life?
A.”Oh yeah, I have many instances of miracles in my life. The one time that I’ll always remember is when we were living in Florida at the time. I desperately wanted it to snow during Christmas. I prayed every night for at least a week. One day I looked out the window and saw white things fluttering around from the sky. At first I thought I was mistaken, but when I ran to window, I saw that indeed it was snow and I was overjoyed. It was like a Christmas gift from God to me. He didn’t have to make it snow, but He did. He did it just to make me happy. I think that’s when it all clicked for me: how much God loves us and that He really does listen, even when doubt is clouding our minds.”
This is yet another story of how God is faithful even when we don’t think he’s doing anything; God’s timing is perfect! Thank you Ann, Tasha, and Zoe for being a part of this week’s M.M.!
Thank you for taking the time to read this today. I hope it showed you God is always working. I hope it also showed you that He hears us and will always work things out for our good. His timing is perfect; don’t forget that (2 Thessalonians 2:15-16)!
