These are lyrics I wrote between the ages of 12 and 13. I don’t remember all my intentions for writing this song, but I have a feeling they are about me asking God to light the way when the path seems unclear or when we don’t know what to do. I hope you enjoy these lyrics. I pray they may speak to your heart today. I have changed or left out a few of the lyrics for corrections or private reasons. Here is Light the Way by Alyssa Rasor (Psalm 16:9-11).
Strength is in Your name, power is in Your name, I’ve walked the midnight path but it keeps getting longer and longer. I don’t why I am afraid, when I should trust Your name.
Oh, Lord today light the way, so I may follow you always. Oh light the way…
My feet follow the other paths. My feet they follow everyone else. My tongue is like a living flame, it flashes out and it causes people to live in pain.
Oh, Lord light the way, so I may follow you always. Oh light the way…
Touch me, use me, show me Lord,
Touch me, use me, show me Lord
Oh, Lord, today light the way so I may follow you always.
