Have you forgotten about your resolutions, goals, and words you set for yourself this year?

My word this year was vulnerability. It’s a scary word and quite frankly freaks me out! For me, vulnerability has always been a struggle for me. This year I wanted to work and practice it in every part of my life.

Yes, some uncomfortable situations have come out of it, but in the end, it was worth it. One area of vulnerability that I think is the hardest is being vulnerable with our sin. Here is what Ephesians 5:11-13 says about it:

Ephesians+5_11-13

It says we are to expose it! It says shine some light on it! That probably makes us all feel uncomfortable; I know that’s how it makes me feel. Today  I want to share some “easy” steps on how to become more vulnerable in this area of life (Ephesians 5:8-10).

1. Start by telling God and admitting to Him what you have done. He already knows, so you may as well confess it (1 Corinthians 1:25).

2. Share with a trusted friend. I know for a while I thought I was the only one.  Fear kept me from sharing my struggles with someone else. When I finally decided to shed some light on it, it actually helped someone else in return (James 5:16)!

3. This idea doesn’t necessarily come from me, but this idea is to journal about it. Write about it and don’t go easy on yourself. Write exactly what you did, how you messed up, and what you can do to act better in the future (Proverbs 1:7) .

I hope these tips have helped. I know I am very far away from being even good at any of this. I do, however, hope these tips can get you going in the right direction (Galatians 5:22).
