Often times we do things we wish we hadn’t. Slowly but surely they become mistakes or sins in our past. We become ashamed of them and would rather keep them a secret within us; not letting anyone be able to have the chance to judge us (Ephesians 5:8-13).
Those things in your past don’t define who you are! If Jesus has saved you, your past is done away with! You are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)!
The second thing I want you to understand is that those things that make up your past are your megaphone for God’s goodness! It is your story about how God has been faithful and merciful to you. That even though we commit unthinkable things, God’s love and grace is bigger (Colossians 1:13-14).
His infinite compassion and love has set you free from your past! It is not by our wounds, but by His we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
