Glorifying God Through the Arts…Part 2

I belong to a theater group that has one mission: to glorify God through the arts. One way they do this is by having a devotion at the beginning of every meeting.

Two weeks ago, they decided to play a worship song for the last part of the devotion. We were encouraged to sit off to the side by ourselves and just let God speak to us.

In the past, when we have listened to or sung to other worship songs, it has always filled me with such joy (Psalm 33:1); joy that only God can bring (Psalm 35:27).

Tonight as I sat wondering, “Why do I always feel such joy when we listen to worship music?” The answer finally came to me! The answer is this:

When we all come together to worship and praise our Maker, I look around the room and suddenly I don’t feel alone anymore (Psalm 9:10). We are in this race of life together hoping to reach the same destination when our lives are over (Hebrews 12:1-3).

I am here to tell you today that you aren’t and never will be alone (Deuteronomy 31:6)! You have believers all over the world praying and hanging on to the same hope as you do (1 Peter 4 and 5:9). Never forget: you are never alone, especially when God promises to always be with us (Matthew 28:20).

  1. Glorifying God through the Arts. That is a topic that just doesn’t get covered much in the church world. It is an important discussion.

  2. Thank you for this timely and lifegiving, hope-filled reminder. I am grateful for brothers and sisters in Christ who bring me back to the truth.
