Red, White, and Blue

For school this year I have been learning about our American government for history. Through this class I have learned a lot about our country (James 1:25).

I had an assignment last week where we were asked to interview a senior citizen and ask them questions on past elections, presidents…etc.

Through this interview I was again reminded of how great of a country we live in. I was reminded of how thankful I am for all those who have gone before me to protect the liberties I take for granted every day.

I am thankful for the times our past presidents stood up to the Communists to protect not only the future of America, but to protect the idea of a people being free (2 Corinthians 3:17). Though I have personally never had to fight for freedom, I would bet that those who have can tell you that freedom isn’t free.

I know our country is in great turmoil right now about the suspicions of voter fraud and things like this, but I would like to encourage all of you to remember that it has never been about fighting for our wants and desires (2 Peter 2:19). It has always been about bringing about a better tomorrow for the next generation to enjoy.

To enjoy what?

To enjoy a place on earth where every man’s ideas are valued and listened to; where there is freedom to worship God and to not be afraid of the consequences if they so choose to worship; where the American people get to choose who runs their country and most importantly where every man is free (Galatians 5:1).
