One of my New Year’s resolutions was to stay off technology more. Let me be even more specific: I wanted to stay off my phone and the few social medias I have.
I realized a habit I have in my life is to check my phone quite frequently for notifications or anything new (Ecclesiastes 1:9-10). I give in to the impulsive feeling to check my phone and drop whatever I am doing to take part in all of the “glory” technology has to offer.
God, however, has been revealing to me over the past few months that I need to give it up. I need to say “no” to the feeling that I need to check my phone and use my time wisely (Titus 2:12).
So, in saying all this, I want to ask you, what is something in your life that is sucking up all your time that maybe needs to go? Maybe not completely leave your life, but maybe there is something you need to control before it controls you (Hebrews 4:15-16).
God has only promised us today. Let us use our time to magnify God and not our own wants and desires (James 4:13-17).
