Hello! Welcome back to another M.M. where I ask ordinary people about miracles God had performed in their lives (Psalm 52:9).
If you are new here, we always ask three questions:
- Was there ever a time in your life when you didn’t believe in miracles? If so, how did that change?
- Do you have a story you can share when you knew God caused a miracle in your life?
- How did this miracle change your life?
Today you will be hearing from Taylor and Jacquelyn, two wonderful young women in my life. Here is Jacquelyn’s story (Acts 17:27-28):
Q. Was there ever a time in your life when you didn’t believe in miracles? If so, how did that change?
A. “I don’t think I have ever not believed in miracles. I definitely felt at times that miracles were not present in my life. I believed in them, sure, but I just felt like they didn’t happen to people like me.”
Q. Do you have a story you can share when you knew God caused a miracle in your life?
A. “My mom was pregnant with my littlest sister Mia. At one of my mom’s appointments, the doctors saw signs of Downs Syndrome. My parents were ready to be fully accepting of her, and they were open to what God had planned. However, they knew it was going to be a challenge.
They were praying for God to watch over Mia, because Downs Syndrome babies often have heart problems; the doctors could see that she had a heart issue in the ultrasound. However, a miracle occurred when she was born.
When she was born, she was perfectly healthy and normal! The doctors and my parents couldn’t believe it, but my family knew that God had done a miracle.”
Q. How did this story change your life?
A. “It changed my life because it made me realize how powerful God is and how much He cares for us. He healed my sister in the womb through a miracle. Miracles finally became real to me.”
This is great! God can truly use anything in our lives to bring us closer to Him (Psalm 34:8).
The next lady is Taylor. Taylor is my Bible study leader and is currently engaged to a great man (though I have never met him!). Here is her story (Ephesians 4:22-24):
Q. Was there ever a time in your life when you didn’t believe in miracles? If so, how did that change?
A. “I don’t think I consciously thought of miracles and if they still happened or not; then I spent a summer in India. I heard stories of people who had been sick and had experienced supernatural healings. That helped me to realize that miracles still happen.
I believed the miracles in Scripture were true, but never really thought about present day miracles.”
Q. Do you have a story you can share when you knew God caused a miracle in your life?
A. “Although I know physical miracles still happen, I have never seen one with my own eyes. I do know that God has caused miracles in my life before. I have seen and experienced the ‘miracle’ of God changing my heart.
I was timid, insecure, and lacked confidence, but through a disciplined walk with Jesus and by the mentoring of a good friend, I began to grow in my confidence. I began to believe what God says about me. Through this heart change, which can only be explained by God’s working in my life, the entire course of my life was changed.”
Q. How did this miracle change your life?
A. “Through this miracle my whole life changed. I became more confident and really believed what God said about me. I became confident to go out and tell others of how God changes our hearts and lives.
Only because of what Jesus did on the cross and only because He rose again, have I been able to travel the world with the purpose of sharing Jesus with those I encounter. Because of the way He changed my heart, I’ve had the opportunity to do things I never would have dreamed of doing.”
Thank you Taylor for reminding us, that without Him, we can do nothing; we have no good thing (Psalm 16:7).
Thank you for joining me for another M.M. I hope this encourages you to take a step back and see all that God is doing in your life. Let me also encourage you with this thought: that even though you may not feel like God is working in your life, He is (Philippians 1:6)!
He has given you another day with air in your lungs. He has given you another day to walk in His love, grace, and blessings. He has given you another day to enjoy His creation, enjoy a good meal, or even enjoy a beautiful white cloud in the sky.
He is lavishing you with love today, friend (1 John 3:1-3). He is lavishing you.
