Hello all! Today I am bringing you an update on my summer memorization challenge (Psalm 119:10-12)!
Let me first say, I am so glad I did this challenge this summer. God was good and gave me plenty of time to memorize the Scriptures this summer. I definitely conquered my fear of thinking I didn’t have the time to memorize or whatever other fear(s) I had before! Anyone else?
The next thing I learned is that it is so very helpful to have God’s Word hidden in my heart. Since I was memorizing Scripture with the theme of not fearing, every time I felt I was afraid, anxious, or alone, I was able to recall Scripture and face my fears (John 16:33, 14:27, Isaiah 41:10).
Now, with all that to say, there were a few weeks when I didn’t follow through with the memorization. There were weeks when I needed to give myself grace when life got a bit crazy. However, I still tried the next week and kept going to the best of my ability (Galatians 6:9).
I want to say thank you to everyone who did this with me! Please comment below how your summer of memorization went. I would love to hear about your experience and all that God did in your heart.
If you are reading this, and you are someone who started the challenge, but never finished, or someone who never started the challenge and wants to start, this challenge does not have to end with the summer! Begin this week! It is a new month and a new start (Isaiah 43)!
Don’t limit God to the new beginnings He desires to make in our lives. Cheers to the summer and to a new start to the fall semester (Matthew 6:19-24)!

Alyssa Rasor (and your Heavenly Father)
P.S. I am not finished with the challenge either. If that is you and you still have more to go, keep up the good work and keep going!
I am definitely not finished!
